1. Introduction and Acceptance

By accessing or using the Valley Rest Hotel website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and regulations. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the website. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the website.

2. Reservations and Bookings
Booking Process
Reservations can be made through the website, by phone at +64 3 555 0199, or by email at [email protected]. A valid credit card may be required to guarantee a booking. All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the hotel.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in time is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM unless otherwise arranged. Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request and subject to availability. Additional charges may apply for late check-out.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled arrival date to avoid a charge of one night's stay.
- Special rates or packages may have different cancellation terms, which will be stated at the time of booking.
- No-shows will be charged the full amount of the first night.
3. Payment and Charges
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers. Cash payments are accepted at the hotel reception. A valid government-issued photo ID may be required at check-in. All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless otherwise stated.
Deposits and Prepayment
Some reservations may require a deposit or full prepayment, which will be clearly indicated at the time of booking. Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Any remaining balance is due at check-out.
Additional Charges
You are responsible for all charges incurred during your stay, including room service, restaurant meals, mini-bar consumption, and any damages. A security deposit or credit card pre-authorization may be required at check-in to cover incidental charges. The pre-authorization will be released upon check-out after settlement of the account.
4. Guest Conduct and Responsibilities
General Conduct
Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards other guests and hotel staff, and to comply with all hotel policies and New Zealand laws.
- Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas, including guest rooms. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
- Pets are not permitted except for registered assistance animals.
- Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Damage and Liability
Guests are liable for any damage to hotel property caused by themselves or their visitors, whether intentional or accidental. The hotel reserves the right to charge the credit card on file for repair or replacement costs. The hotel is not responsible for loss or damage to guests' personal belongings unless caused by the hotel's negligence.
Minors
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The hotel may require proof of age. Minors are not permitted in the poker zone.
5. Poker Zone Terms
Eligibility and Access
The poker zone is open to hotel guests and visitors aged 18 years or older. Valid photo identification is required for entry. The poker zone operates from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM daily. Entry may be restricted at the discretion of hotel management.
Conduct and Fair Play
All players must adhere to the rules of the game and the instructions of poker zone staff. Cheating, collusion, or disruptive behavior will result in immediate removal and possible banning. The poker zone is a social entertainment facility; no real-money gambling is permitted. Chips and cards are provided by the hotel and must be returned at the end of play.
Responsible Conduct
The hotel promotes responsible entertainment. Players are encouraged to set time limits and take breaks. Staff may intervene if they believe a player is experiencing distress. Alcohol consumption in the poker zone is subject to New Zealand liquor licensing laws and hotel policy. Intoxicated persons will not be permitted to play.

You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes to learn about the hotel and make reservations.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Valley Rest Hotel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website or your stay. This includes loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Force Majeure
The hotel is not liable for failure to perform its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.
